We run PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN telehealth group therapy sessions covering a range of topics, all from a neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+-affirming lens.

Our therapist, Shelley, will facilitate these group sessions, providing affirming psychoeducation and evidence-backed strategies, skills and resources.

What to expect:

We work hard to make our programs feel safe, low-pressure and affirming. To learn about how this works, check out our How we run group therapy document.

Psst... can't commit to scheduled groups?

neurodivergent
burnout &
self-compassion

ABOUT:

Burnout is something many people experience, but neurodivergent people are especially vulnerable. Practising self-compassion has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to recover from and prevent burnout. Self-compassion builds resilience, improves mental and physical health and helps us achieve our goals! However, due to the messages we receive about ourselves in a world built for neurotypicals, self-compassion can be particularly challenging for neurodivergent people.  These 12 x 1.5H ONLINE SESSIONS are designed for anyone who identifies as neurodivergent (no diagnosis necessary) to address the unique causes of burnout in neurodivergent individuals and provide solutions tailored to your needs as well as building self-compassion skills that work for neurodivergent brains.  Far from seeking to change who you are, we seek to work alongside you to tap into your unique values, strengths and lived experience to create solutions that work for you and empower you to thrive.

tOPICS COVERED

- Understanding burnout - Why neurodivergent people are more prone to burnout - Social and environmental factors that contribute to burnout - Unlearning internalised ableism and neuronormativity - Boom-bust cycles, energy management & stress cycles - Polyvagal theory & nervous system regulation  - Creating coping strategies & accommodations - Practising self-advocacy & setting boundaries - Building a personal plan for recovery & prevention - What is self-compassion? - Why is self-compassion important? - Why is self-compassion challenging for neurodivergent people?
